Project Overview
At a contemporary residence on Terry Avenue, Warilla, Dream Tile was commissioned to design and supply tiling for a bathroom refurbishment that emphasised both visual depth and modern minimalism. The design centred on two primary tile selections: 600×600 Grey Travertine-Effect Porcelain Tiles for the walls and floor, and 75×300 Matt White Subway Tiles for a bold vertical feature wall. The result is a tranquil yet edgy space that harmonises texture, tone, and industrial detailing.

Design Strategy:
- Used across three walls and the floor to create a continuous surface that visually expands the compact bathroom.
- The grey stone-effect texture evokes the look of natural travertine, delivering a grounded, spa-like atmosphere.
- Subtle, cement-like finish enhances the sense of seamless modernity, ideal for small or low-light environments.
Functionality:
- Porcelain composition ensures moisture resistance and easy maintenance.
- Matt finish provides slip resistance while maintaining a soft, tactile feel.
- Durable enough for daily use in both residential and guest bathrooms.
Feature Wall
Tile: Matt White Subway Tile – 75x300mm (Vertically Stacked)
Design Strategy:
- Installed in a dense vertical layout to create contrast against the grey backdrop, echoing the rhythm of piano keys.
- The white finish brightens the space, reflecting available light and alleviating the shadowed feel typical of windowless bathrooms.
- Acts as a dynamic visual anchor that draws the eye without overwhelming the room.
Fixtures & Finishes
- Gunmetal grey taps and shower fixtures were chosen to blend subtly with the grey travertine tiles, creating a refined tonal gradient.
- The industrial edge is further emphasised by the juxtaposition of cool metal against the crisp matt white tiles, delivering a clean, contemporary statement.

The use of a unified grey tile across walls and floor provides calm cohesion, while the striking vertical white tile wall introduces contrast and rhythm.
